Sammy's Story...
Hi, I’m Sammy! I’m a 1 year old Border Collie Lab mix. I weigh about 50 pounds. Sometimes I’m a little
shy at first but I warm up quickly. I’m a playful guy who likes other dogs and kids. Because I’m a quick
learner I’m getting really good at my housebreaking skills. I don’t drool or lick and I’ll let you rub my belly
forever.
Before I sound too good to be true my foster mama says I should tell you that I am far too interested in
cats so I probably should find a forever home without any. I’d like a forever home with a really active
family or folks with a fenced yard so I can run and play.
Sammy is located in Iowa City, Iowa. We adopt within a 100 mile radius.
Sammy is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and heartworm tested, and micro-chipped.
Adoption donation $200.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a Lisbon Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Lisbon, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lisbon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lisbon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lisbon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lisbon paves the way for another one to be saved.
