Captain's Story...
My name is Captain and I am a sweet 5 month old buff boy. I was rescued from a high kill shelter after sitting in a cage for a month. I was a little shy at the shelter so people walked past me day after day. Finally some nice lady with Buster’s Friends gave me some attention so I loved on her. She brought me to her house where I was able to run, play with other cats, jump, look out the window and explore everything. I LOVED it!! I want to find a home to call my own and a family that will love me forever! I would do great with a family with other pets and kids. Adopt me today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Captain, a Houston Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Houston, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
