My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our vivacious Clara has the bouyant good nature that attracts American Pit Bull Terrier folks to this lovable breed. No other breed has been so overbred, mishandled and maligned as the APBT, and we are thrilled to have Clara with us, at the beginning of her life, so that we can find her forever home.

Clara started off her rescue journey as a statistic: just one more homeless pit roaming the mean city streets. She had traversed the rescue process with ease, and had displayed great confidence and panache as she has interacted with everyone along the way. Her behavior evaluations were exemplary, and she was adopted through a shelter adopter program to a superb young family, who learned quickly, that Clara was not a good fit for a feline household.

Clara's young owner approached us and we agreed to find a cat free home for this stupendous red nosed beauty. Clara has been handled with great love and care, and has a friendly, outgoing temperment. She has been properly exercised and much attention has been paid to her general obedience and manners. She has completely charmed her foster family that includes another female pittie, a young Rottie, and two preteen, dog savvy kids.

Clara would be a fantastic choice for a bully breed lover, who is willing to continue Clara's exercise and obedience regimen that has fostered such great behavior so far. Clara is high energy, and needs vigorous exercise. She has had a blast this summer: between hiking in the woods and swimming, we have managed to tire her out!

Her Trainer, Ricky, photographed her with the GO camera, and we were really able to capture all the excitement and exhuberance that we LOVE about Clara. She loves to be on the go: the more action, the better. A bored, frustrated Bully will make mischief, to be sure, but in the hands of dedicated breed enthusiasts, who rejoice in their high energy companions, Pitties are Man's devoted BFFs.

Clara is a total stunner. She is a red nose ABPT, with the most amazing blue peepers since Ol' Blue Eyes. Her coat is a pretty carmel with white tuxedo markings and cute white socks. She is known as a petite, "Pocket Pittie" due to her small stature. Although Clara is quite strong and muscular, she weighs only 39 pounds.

Clara has been thoroughly vetted, She has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza), and has been boostered as needed. She has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. She has been dewormed, and microchipped.
