River's Story...
Name: River

Breed: Lab mix

Age: Young Adult

Gender: Male

River here is our 'long shot' dog... he's not very eye catching, at an awkward age (not adorable little puppy, but also not fully trained adult), and easy to miss as he tends to just acclimate to where he's at and settle in. River is a 8-9 month old Lab mix, playful and sweet, loves other dogs and kids, and found himself facing euthanasia at a shelter. Volunteers lost their hearts to him, so begged rescue to take him in. He has started the house training, is crated for the workday, and soaks up the teaching like a sponge-- he's incredibly smart. His heart is full of love and he has limitless potential. Please be the person that River needs, someone not afraid of some work with training still, someone who looks at this curious face and sees the heart behind it.

Requirements: No special requirements

You can email kladams4545@gmail.com with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

River, a Minneapolis Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
