  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Junior is about 6 years old and weighs 70 pounds. Junior is a very smart dog that can't wait to impress his new adopters with everything he already knows. He knows sit, down, paw, other paw, roll over, and touch. He's a medium energy dog, so he'll need daily exercise and of course, daily cuddle sessions. He is housebroken and loves his crate. He loves Kongs, bones, rope toys, squeaky toys, and stuffed animals. Junior also loves playing in water! Give him a baby pool or give him a lake, and he'll have fun all on his own! Junior is very unsure of new people at first, so he needs someone who will be patient with him in the beginning while he's getting to know you and adjust to your home. Junior is also unsure of dogs, so if his new adopters have a dog he'll require several slow introductions. Junior seems to do better with dogs that are laid back and non-threatening. Junior is a fun-loving dog that can't wait for a family of his own! He gets to hang out at one of our volunteer's houses to get him out of the kennel and she has nothing but great things to say about Junior! Junior is very loyal and a great cuddle bug.

Junior has been examined by a veterinarian and is up-to-date on his vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He is also neutered, microchip, and had a normal health check blood screening. Junior has a skin allergy that is being treated with Apoquel. This medication may or may not be something he'll always need to take, but The Princess Buttercup Foundation will help cover this expense in order for him to find a new, good home. If you are interested in adopting (or fostering) him please email Valerie at info@princessbuttercupfoundation.org to schedule a meet and greet.

About The Princess Buttercup Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

The Princess Buttercup Foundation's ("PBF") mission is to rescue primarily "pit bull" dogs from high-kill animal shelters or other urgent situations and do whatever necessary within reason to prepare them for adoption.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

We're currently not a 501(c)3 organization, so any donations made to our rescue are NOT yet tax-deductible. Donations are still very crucial to our efforts, so we hope you'll still chose to donate to our dogs.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting a dog is a lifelong commitment; on average, dogs can live for 10-12 years. It takes a lot of time, patience, responsibility, and even money to care for a dog. We are only looking for serious applicants that can make a commitment to adopting one of our dogs for his/her lifetime. A quick run-down of the steps of our adoption process are:

* You must be 21 years of age and have permission from your landlord or have acceptable home owner's insurance that will permit you to adopt the dog you are applying for. If you meet these two qualifications, please complete our Adoption Application.

* We will review your application and call your references that you provide on the application. If everything checks out to be fine, then we will contact you to agree on a date and time for you to meet our rescue dogs.

* If you fall in love with one of our dogs, then we will have one of our volunteers arrange a date and time to visit your home to make sure it's doggy-proof (we do not approve/deny applicants based on how beautiful your home is, so don't worry!)

* Finally, if your home visit checks out to be fine, we can then finalize the adoption by completing the Adoption Contract with you!

We do require an adoption fee in order to adopt one of our dogs. We only require an adoption fee because it costs us a lot of money and even time to care for all our rescue dogs and to give them the proper medical care they need.

All our rescue dogs are examined by our veterinarian, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, treated for fleas/ticks and heartworms, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.

Adult Dogs (8 months and older): $200
Puppies (under 8 months old): $300
