My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Annie was rescued from a West Tennessee shelter with her two sisters and their puppies. Born about October 2013, Annie's beautiful chestnut coat catches your attention, but it's her personality that will keep your heart.

Annie is so nurturing. She loves puppies and children, and has always taken a special interest in her sister's babies, watching out for them whenever she could. She loves to play with the puppies and younger dogs in our rescue, gently romping and wrestling.

Surprisingly, Annie is low energy. She plays with the young ones when they'r around, but is satisfied with a tour of her boundaries each day, then content to lounge on the couch or nearest dog bed.

When Annie was brought into rescue, we noticed she had something going on with her eyes. The vet confirmed that the eyelashes on all four eyelids were turned inward, irritating her eyes constantly. Two surgeries later, Annie is healed up and can finally see clearly!

Annie's nurturing personality shines through when you learn that she lets itty bitty kittens snuggle up and sleep on her, even pretending to nurse. Unfortunately, when those kittens grow up, Annie's blood gets to pumping during the chase, and it doesn't end well. She will not be placed in a forever home that has cats.

Annie is housebroken and crate trained, and is ready to find her forever home. Any family that adopts her will find themselves with a true treasure.

We are a shelterless rescue, which means we do not have a physical location, so it is not possible to come to see multiple dogs at one time. Our adoption fee is $450 and includes all their vetting, including their spay/neuter, and transport up to the Northeast.***
