Angel's Story...
My name is Angelface. I am very special because I have helped out a lot of people. I am a retired research beagle (that just means I was used in biomedical research), and now I have been given the chance to be adopted as a pet and learn what life outside of a laboratory is really like!

I only have 1 kidney. (I was used to help in kidney transplant research! Wow!) Just like people, I am expected to live a normal and healthy life with just one kidney, so I hope this makes me even more special in your eyes! I don't need special medications or food or anything - just a loving home to show me what life as a loving housepet can be!

I LOVE to play with other young beagles. I also like to cuddle up and fall asleep in your arms. I am cratetrained, and am learning to be housetrained! I like to play with toys, and like a typical young beagle, I like to chew on fun things! I am very gentle and sweet. I am barely 20 pounds, and have a good ARROOO! I do not like my crate much, so a home where I do not have to spend much time in one would be FABULOUS! Can you give me the time and love I deserve?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Angel, a Portland Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Portland, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
