Stanley's Story...
This gorgeous young boy came into the pound as a stray. How anyone let him get away and never bothered to look for him is astonishing because he is truly one of the calmest, sweetest dogs ever. This guy really is a Zen dog. He is good in the bath, on the table, with the dryer, with his nails, with having his ears clean — He accepts anything! Everyone who met him at the pound remarked on how sweet and well-behaved he is. And he's extremely handsome with good teeth! If you put your face anywhere near his, you'll get a big kiss. And then another one and another one. It doesn’t appear that Stanley had ever been brushed because his undercoat was matted to the skin. But he just sat there while a volunteer used de-tangler to comb out his mats and thinned out the huge ruff of matted fur around his neck. He seemed to enjoy having a fuss made of him, and everyone who stopped by to say hello remarked on what a gorgeous, good boy he was. Now that Stanley has a second chance at life, he’s ready for his forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stanley, a Marina del Rey Newfoundland/Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland/Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Marina del Rey, or seeking a Newfoundland/Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Marina del Rey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marina del Rey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marina del Rey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland/Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Newfoundland/Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marina del Rey paves the way for another one to be saved.
