Xerxes's Story...
Please say hello to Xerxes. Xerxes is a 10 week old German Shepherd mix puppy! His mother is Noor, a purebred black German Shepherd but we do not know who his dad is.

Xerxes is a very sweet boy who loves to run and play with his littermates and his foster brothers and sisters. He is also working on his crate training and house breaking.

Xerxes is a special needs boy because he has Megaesophagus. Click here for more information on Megaesophagus: http://www.akcchf.org/canine-health/your-dogs-health/disease-information/megaesophagus.html

Xerxes, like his sister Xia, must have his food made into a slurry texture. He then is held upright while he eats and is held for about 15 minutes after he eats to ensure that all of his food makes it into his stomach. We hope that one day, Xerxes will be able to sit in a Baily Chair when he eats.

For more information on Xerxes, please contact Tim and Lindsay at: Lheberg3@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Xerxes, a Rochester/Buffalo German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Rochester/Buffalo, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Rochester/Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester/Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester/Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester/Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
