Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tinkerbell was dropped off at a local high-kill shelter just before Christmas. She was extremely skinny and in poor condition. The shelter workers didn't think she would survive more than a few days. The shelter had no veterinary care, and since she was so sick she was not considered adoptable and would be put down in a matter of hours. A volunteer at the shelter felt sorry for her and took her home to nurse her back to health. After just some minor vet care she bounced right back. She gained weight, her coat started to shine and now she is growing up to be a gorgeous girl! At 6+ months, Belle is 13+ inches tall and weighs 26 pounds.
She has been raised in a large pack and loves her foster family. She would love to have a home with other dogs. This little doll is extremely respectful of the older dogs and loves to play with the younger ones. She is quiet and rarely barks. Belle is very affectionate and does love to cuddle on the couch and get a good belly rub. She is house broken and uses the doggy door to take herself outside. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a car.
She is still a puppy and some training will still be required. Her foster household has many foster puppies so the house is pretty puppy-proof with only doggy toys to chew on, but she does respond when told to "leave it". Keeping shoes up away from any puppy is a good habit as you continue to teach her what is OK to play with. She is learning her basic commands. Belle will be a wonderful addition to your family if you have beagle experience and a canine buddy as a playmate for Belle. NOTE: THE FIRST STEP in our adoption process is to complete our application to adopt on our website at: www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org We cannot proceed with your request to adopt Tinkerbelle until you have filled out the application found on our website in the link "About Adoption" so please start there! Thank you!
