My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dove was just recently rescued from a very high-kill New Mexico shelter. This incredibly sweet guy passed his vetting and behavioral testing with flying colors and has arrived in Denver. Farfel's Rescue is very excited to welcome Dove and help in the search for a loving and committed forever home. Our adorable little Dove is just about 2.5 - 3 years old and approximately 10 - 12 lbs....and could not be sweeter. He appears to be a purebred Poodle...but there could be a little something else in there. If so, our guess is Bichon or possibly Maltese. Which ever is the case..he couldn't possibly be any cuter! Dove is the perfect companion for anyone searching for a very devoted dog who loves to spend his time either on his person's lap, taking a walk on beautiful Colorado paths or on the couch engaging in a serious belly rub session. Dove doesn't require extensive exercise but does enjoy playing and cuddling with those he loves. He's also a very portable guy at just about 10 - 12 lbs and would love nothing more than a car or plane ride (in the cabin only please) to any destination. His behavior and temperament are great but it's important that's he's given the time to bond and trust...it also helps that he's the most adorable guy around!
We envision Dove in a home with a retired individual or couple who enjoy spending lots of quality time with an entertaining little lap dog. Dove is often the center of attention just because he's so engaging...and very funny as well! He's at that perfect age that is just getting beyond babyish antics and is now developing into just a great companion with more adult skills. Dove would benefit and learn great socialization skills from positive reinforcement group training class...it would also cement his relationship with his family.
Dove also enjoys the company of other gentle, like-sized dogs... but can be very happy as the one and only. He's a wonderful companion who is low maintenance....just a kind word, petting, kisses, treats and a place next to (or on) the bed would be a dream come true for this little guy.
Dove is a non-shedder (and considered to be one of the best choices for those with allergy concerns). He will therefore require great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his coat healthy, cotton-soft and matt-free.

Dove is arriving on transport in Boulder on or around 1/4 - 1/8/2015. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and very devoted companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
