My name is Karlee!

Shepherd (Unknown Type) Mix Dog for adoption in Chicago, Illinois - Karlee

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Karlee's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and not good with dogs.

Karlee's Story...
Big fan of: Karlee likes children and also seems to be cat-friendly!

Not a fan of: Karlee likely didn’t spend much time around other dogs in her former life, so she is still working on her canine social skills. She can also be nervous around strangers, especially men.

A little more: Karlee came to PAWS from Animal Care and Control as a stray. She was very underweight and her coat was in poor condition, so it seems as though Karlee may have been neglected. She is now nearing a healthy weight of about 50 pounds, and is doing much better. This beautiful dog needs a family who can help her catch up on all the training, socialization, and TLC she was deprived of in her adolescence.

Dream home: Karlee is looking for a household of experienced dog-lovers who can continue working with a trainer to build her confidence and develop obedience skills.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Karlee, a Chicago Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
