My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Señorita Sheba is a gorgeous, sleek kitty who was rescued from a yard in west Lawndale in Chicago. She is FIV+ but perfectly healthy and active, not to mention social and engaging! She was fostered for two months with a sweet woman who said of all the 30 some cats she’s had in her life, Sheba was one of the best and brightest. She's smart, playful, curious, and loves her human companions. Just watch her with Da Bird and you’ll see what a superb athlete she is! Her favorite activities are playing, being pet, and sleeping with her humans. Her eating and toilet habits are beyond reproach. Sheba is young, healthy and vigorous, and she needs a permanent home and her own people...maybe it's you she's meant to be with! DOB: 2012

*Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a weakening of the immune system in cats. It's often compared to human HIV, but FIV is not transferable to humans or other species. It is also difficult to transfer to other sterilized cats, and we believe that mixed FIV and non-FIV households can work if managed properly. If kept indoors in a stress-free environment, with regular medical care and high-quality nutrition, most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives. Tree House staff can help answer your questions to see if an FIV+ cat is the right choice for you. FIV+ cats adopted from Tree House are eligible for a lifetime veterinary-care plan that includes a free annual exam and discounted treatments.
