My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rachel is a sassy, confident, fun, sweet and outgoing, three-year-old, female, green-eyed, one-eared Torbie cat with Bengal markings looking for a loving guardian.

Rachel doesn’t have a shy bone in her body. She’ll nap right on top of you and walk up to strangers to say “Hi!” She fits right into any home with dogs and/or other cats. However, she prefers people to other animals. She is extremely affectionate and walks around purring.

Rachel has the softest and most beautiful spotted markings on her coat. Her one-eared look just adds to her uniqueness.

Poor Rachel came into the shelter with such a bad ear hematoma that her whole ear had to be surgically removed. We don’t know whether she was attacked by another animal, or what happened to her to cause the initial damage. She spent months recuperating in a loving foster home before returning to the shelter for adoption.

Rachel is now extremely healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, virus-tested and micro-chipped. She has all her claws and would like to keep it that way.

You can meet Rachel and all the other cats, dogs and rabbits of the Animal Care League at 1011 Garfield, in Oak Park, Illinois. Their adoption hours are Monday, Thursday & Friday: noon to 7:00 p.m., or Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Her adoption fee of $85 benefits the rescued pets of the ACL. To ask further questions about Rachel, please contact Aga at felinemanager@animalcareleague.org or 708-848-8155, ext. 125.
