A big boy, low with wide shoulders

CoCo is a good dog that probably had very little love and attention as a pup.  Today, he is a big boy that is friendly and happy and loves to be part of the family.  He is always ready for you to put the leash on him and go for a walk.  He likes to play with the female dogs in the play yard, and gets along well with select male dogs in the pack.  He likes to investigate new territory and is basically a quiet dog.  I do not know how he would be with children, but I would recommend, due to his size, that he not be around small children.  He needs a fenced yard and needs adults that understand the breed.  He just wants an owner that will give him time and attention.  Potential adopter(s) must have a knowledge and respect for this type of dog, and know the bully breed's characteristics, care and supervision needed, and accept responsibility to protect him from other dogs and to give him a calm, supervised, happy life.   He is neutered, micro-chipped, on heartworm preventive, and up to date on shots.  Please contact us if you are interested in CoCo.  We do a security home check as well as check references.  We are near Sherman, TX, and can consider a home farther away.  We would love for him to find his forever home.  Contact us if you would like to meet him.  Thanks!

About Red Dog Haven

About Our Rescue Group...

I am an individual that became aware of the euthanasia of animals in 2012, at a shelter in Texas, and to my horror, this was happening everywhere due to overpopulation. I had not been in this arena before. I was completely shocked at the process. I went the very next day to that shelter, with the list of dogs that were to be killed that day. I asked to see 4 of them. I was told I could not see them because they were "in the back". They got the manager at that point, that took me behind those closed doors, and I was only allowed to see 2 due to the fear of spreading germs???? The volunteers helped me by putting one in an adjoining play yard, so I had 2 outside, and I saw the other 2 in the hall as we were passing thru. I adopted 4 dogs on the spot, one black bait dog, one pit bull, and two black mixed sisters. Those dogs walked out of that shelter that day. And that was the start of me adopting the animals. I have adopted and cared for and re-homed dogs ever since. Sometimes I have mamas and puppies. My passion is to get these adopted and then be able to work in another capacity to help in any way I can. My life has been forever changed. All these beating hearts are why we do what we do.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our Adoption Process...

We charge $75 for the adult dogs. This is a re-homing fee that shows a sincere interest in the pet by the potential adopter. We require an application with references, a vet reference, and a home safety inspection. References are called.
