My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This poor little boy was rescued from a terrible hoarding situation. We got a call that there were 40 dogs kept in horrendous conditions which needed immediate rescue. We were able to take 12 of them and we are spaying, neutering and vetting all of them. Many of them are shy and are not used to being loved but we are optimistic that they will blossom in the right foster/forever home.

Haymitch is a 2 yr. old long-haired Chihuahua mix who weights about 8 lbs.. We do not know his weight yet.. He is not housebroken but is working hard at puppy pads. He howled the first night he was in rescue. After only a day or two he is making tremendous progress. He is learning to walk on a leash and we've discovered he is a climber and jumper and needs a secure home. He is eating well and and is starting to wag his tail. Haymitch is fearful of strangers, will bark when left alone but he is also curious, playful and gentle. He is very very weak and thin as can be seen from his photos and still a little nervous and fearful. But we can see a playful little guy underneath all the fear and reserve. He likes it best if he gets to choose when and how he approaches people.
