My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie has been in THE RED DOG PROJECT prison rehabilitation program. That means fostering with inmate handlers and learning the basics of all around good behavior, potty training and interacting with other dogs.

Here is more information about me:
Rosie was scheduled to be euthanized when the Red Dog Project learned of her, and rescued her from being put to sleep. She is a three year old 60 lb staffordshire bull terrier mix.

Rosie would do well in a household with children - she LOVES them - however only children who are older would be best. This girl loves to nap during the day and could be an only dog easily. We're working on her leash walking skills so she could go to an older person and do very well.

GENERAL VETERINARY CARE:
I have been:
~ spayed/neutered
~ microchipped
~ dewormed
~ heartworm-tested negative if dog is of age to be tested ( 6 months or older)
~ up to date on all age appropriate shots
~ treated with a flea preventative

Rosie has been seen by a Connecticut veterinarian and all medical records will come with the adoption papers as well as notes from Rosie's dog handler.

ADOPTION FEES
Adoption fee is $385 and includes all vetting listed above.

ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION FORM:

ADOPTION PROCESS -
If you would like to begin the application process, please fill in the form at the link above and we will review your information, call your personal and well as vet references. PLEASE Fill in the application if you're interested in adoption. We hope you will understand the careful scrutiny of potential adopters is not only for the safety and well-being of the dog but also for a positive experience for your household. Thank you for saving the life of a shelter dog through adoption; you are truly a hero.
-- A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference.
-- If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property.
-- If you have never owned a dog and therefore do not have a vet reference let us know right away and we'll try to do a home visit before the adoption. First time adopters need a quick home visit to make sure they are ready to take a dog home for the first time.

The Red Dog Project dogs will often visit area retailers for a Saturday or Sunday "debut", please email info@reddogproject.org if you would like to be on the mailing list for those events.

Thank you!
