Opie's Story...
Opie is a very sweet but high energy boy. He is about three years old. We believe he is a Pointer/Boxer mix, but we aren't positive. We are working with Opie not to jump on people because he still has a ton of puppy in him. We are also working on leash training with Opie. He is very smart but has a short attention span. He would do best with a family who doesn't have small children and who are familiar with training and positive reinforcement. He gets along with other male dogs, but likes to play rough. We would definitely recommend a meet and greet to anyone wanting to adopt him with another dog. He is such a sweet boy, he just doesn't know his size. If you are interested in Opie, please come meet him at SAMS Tuesday-Friday 1-7, Saturday 12-5 and Sunday 12-4 or fill out an application online!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Opie, a Hanna City Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer for sale in Hanna City, or seeking a Pointer dog from a breeder in Hanna City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hanna City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hanna City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer breeders who help with Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hanna City paves the way for another one to be saved.
