My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dena is a goofy, sweet little girl. She is energetic and playful, and will greet everyone with a huge, sloppy kiss. She enjoys playing in the snow and will play fetch for hours. Her activity level can best be described as moderately active and she would like a home with another canine companion to play with or that takes her on frequent walks and trips to the dog park. Food is a big motivator for her as she learned to sit almost immediately. She is very smart and someone could have a lot of fun teaching her new tricks. As much as she likes to play and explore, she will also snuggle up to her foster and the resident dogs to take a nap. Dena is crated when left alone and at bedtime. She is doing great on housetraining and hasn't had an accident in over a month, we still recommend that you watch close the first few days and help any new dog learn the routine in a new home! She has played very well with other dogs that she has met, but would not necessarily need another dog in her home. Dena is estimated to be about 1.5 years old and weighs about 17 pounds. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.

All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.

Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday March 21, 2015, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
