Fitz's Story...
Meet handsome deaf super dog, Fitz! Fitz is a three year old deaf male pit mix who is currently being fostered by a local dog trainer. He is neutered, micro-chipped, heart-worm negative and current on vaccinations. Fitz is great with other dogs and loves everyone he meets. He is fantastic with kids but would probably do best with older children - His exuberance for life might be a bit too much for youngsters! Fitz is crate-trained and knows his basic commands (sit, stay, down, come, touch.) He LOVES running around in the yard with his dog friends and most of all, car rides! At the end of the day, he believes that he is a lap dog who should be allowed to curl up right beside you for the evening. Fitz compensates for his deafness by being very attentive to the people around him. He doesn't have any issue with being startled or being wakened from a deep sleep...unless you consider a tongue bath an issue! He is food-motivated and has been very easy to train. This special boy can't wait to meet his forever person... could that lucky person be you? Please e-mail: adoptions@spcaonline.com to set up a time to meet Fitz.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fitz, a Ithaca Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Ithaca, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Ithaca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ithaca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ithaca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ithaca paves the way for another one to be saved.
