Fletcher's Story...
Fletcher is a beautiful young male about 2 years of age. He is very classic looking and weighs about 70 pounds. He is high energy and would probably need more stimulation than just laying on the couch watching Animal Planet all day! He seems to be ok with other dogs his size, but has not yet been tested with small dogs/cats.

Fletcher was rescued from a municipal animal control facility in November 2007 just before his euthanasia day. He was positive for heartworms but has been treated successfully and is now negative and ready for his new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fletcher, a Pike Road German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Pike Road, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Pike Road.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pike Road already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pike Road breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pike Road paves the way for another one to be saved.
