January 2008 update Millie has gone back to see Dr. Milton for her followup and he is pleased with her progress and has released her from his care!
Millie is a very nice adult female that GSRCA rescued after receiving a call about an injured dog. She is about 4-5 years of age and wandered up to a nice lady's house after apparantly being hit by a car. She had multiple scrapes, road burn and a broken leg.
Millie was seen by the orthopedic specialist in Birmingham, Dr. Milton. He stated the fracture was stable and applied a cast. She is to have it removed in 6 weeks. However, Millie tested positive for heartworms so she'll soon have another hurdle to jump before becoming available.
Millie has a nice personality and will do well in a home with other dogs and/or cats. * Sometimes the best ones are worth the wait!
This dog is crate trained, spayed, up to date on shots and HW negative. Adoption application, home visit, and $300 adoption fee are required. Please read our adoption requirements on our home page. After reviewing GSRCA’s adoption process, please fill out the application completely. This is the first step in our adoption process. No adoption will be considered or discussed until the application has been received.
