Wayland's Story...
Want a nice dog? Check out 3 year old Wayland. He's a beagle mix from another facility. Wayland has a good energy level and is an even tempered fellow. He walks well on a leash and enjoys being with people. This good boy was recently adopted and returned. His family said he was only partially house trained and had some accidents in the home. The family said he made big improvements even though he was only in the home a short time. They also said he liked people of all ages plus other dogs and cats. Sometimes it takes a little time for a shelter dog to adjust to their new home. Wayland's a great pooch waiting for his second chance.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wayland, a Elyria Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
