Diego's Story...
Name: Diego
Color: Red and white
Breed: Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher Mix
Gender: Male
Age: 2 Years 1 Month
Diego is a shy, timid boy looking for an experienced, adult only home.
Big fan of: Diego needs some time to warm up to new people and needs you to sit down with your shoulders turned away and to slowly encourage him towards you with treats. Towering over Diego makes him very nervous and this type of behavior will need to be avoided. Once Diego realizes you aren't going to eat him, he loves having his belly and chest rubbed.
Special Features: Diego will need to be signed up for positive reward based obedience before his adoption can be finalized; he needs some confidence boosting and socialization.
Dream Home: Diego could live with a confident cat that won't let him chase after him and he could potentially live with a confident dog as well, but he will have to meet any potential canine siblings. Diego will need to go to an adult only home that is used to little dogs and how to best handle them.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diego, a Bellingham Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
