Roxie's Story...
Roxie was part of a collaborative rescue effort in Fallon, NV that saved more than 30 horses from purchase by a slaughter buyer. Roxie arrived at AAE on March 25, 2014. She appeared to be minimally handled or unhandled, and in foal, but one of few auction/feedlot rescues that appeared in good health. She delivered Dylan on April 8, 2014. Roxie recently spent some time at the Monty Roberts International Learning Center where she received a couple weeks of handling, desensitizing, and socializing. Roxie is a beautiful, stocky mare with lots of promise. She is still working on socialization and trust of her human friends. She has yet to be started under saddle, but she is a curious and willing mare that will need an experienced and gentle/quiet handler to take her to the next level.

Adoption fee subject to change based on training. Please refer to website for current information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxie, a El Dorado Hills Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in El Dorado Hills, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in El Dorado Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Dorado Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Dorado Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Dorado Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
