McSpadden was found in November 2014 living on the streets and extremely underfed. Since moving into his new foster home he has focused the majority of his attention on making up for those days without food by wanting to eat consistently. After a month of wet food he is filling out and becoming the beautiful cat he was meant to be. His age is unknown but has been guessed to be around 2 and he definitely has a youthful spirit to him.

He is very friendly with his foster and mostly so with new people. He loves to be around people, meaning if anyone is home he will be in that room whether sleeping, eating or whatever. He loves to be pet especially behind the ears as all cats seem to but he is not a cat to be cuddled with or carried around too often. Currently he spends the majority of his nights sleeping on his foster bed, curled up and quiet.

He is not usually a loud cat but when it comes to food he will let it be known that he is hungry. He is not a shy cat but would be categorized as slightly nervous. Because of this he is always concerned of things that make loud noises around him and usually runs away quickly if he is spooked but will come back in a second if the noise doesn't continue. This likely means that he would not be comfortable in a home with children or dogs.

He has never interacted with another cat so it is hard to say how he would react to that situation. Overall he is a beautiful cat (Big tabby with white paws) with a very friendly personality who offers great companionship for a little love and a lot of food in return. He would make a great cat to have for many.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

McSpadden Tabby, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
