Max's Story...
Please meet Max the puppy...and Max's mom, Sandy.

We received a call on 12/8 from a friend of the rescue. She said that a very pregnant and was hanging out around her friend's home. We said we would helped and planned to go out the next morning and get mom to safety. Well, mom (we've named Sandy because she looks exactly like Sandy from Annie), had different plans. She decided that she would deliver those puppies - so the next day our friend brought Sandy and her 9 puppies to us.

To say that Sandy is a good mom, would be a huge understatement - she is an exceptional mom. She is sweet to her core, she is taking excellent care of her puppies and they look amazing, little butterballs. So we are focusing on taking care of mom, and she is focusing on feeding and teaching these sweet babies all they need to know. They have all been to the vet, however they will not be vaccinated until they are safely weaned from mom. Once they are weaned, they will be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped and we will begin to find homes for each of them.

We have also included the results from the puppies' DNA test. This is highly unusual for a rescue to do such testing, because, quite frankly, breed does not mean so much - but an interested adopter paid for the test so we obliged. Sandy is a Lab/Jindo mix and looks like dad was a Boston Terrier/German Shepherd mix...we would have never guess, but wow, Lab/Jindo/Boston Terrier/GSDs mixes are pretty unbelievably cute, who knew??

Max's adoption fee is $500 and will include vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter, health certificate and transportation from Memphis to you. Max will be available for adoption the third week of February, but we are accepting applications now. The first step in the adoption process is submitting a completed application.

For an adoption application, email us at wilsonanimalrescue@yahoo.com or you can go directly to...

Thanks for looking and for considering a rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Hagerstown Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
