My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you would like more information about Lucy or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to jmvanalstine@gmail.com

My husband and I pulled this little girl from BARC. She was to be euthanized directly rather than be put up for adoption. We saw her alert go out on a rescue site and intervened. Lucy is 8-10 months old and looks like a black retriever. She is likely a retriever mixed with either aussie or german shepherd and lab. She has a very sweet temperament, loves to snuggle, and is very gentle. She trusts very quickly, but is wary of her surroundings and very observant. She has a soft mouth, and is not food possessive. Lucy is very good with other dogs (we have two large dogs, and she is great interacting with them), and is also fine with our indoor cat. She was found as a stray, but is great on leash and behaves very well in the house. She loves belly rubs, napping by the fireplace, watching out the windows, and pulling all of the toys out of the toy bin.
