Cricket's Story...
Cricket is a mellow senior Rat Terrier who recently came to the rescue with her sister Kassie. Cricket is searching for a nice place to retire, after being a beloved pet for some time, she has found herself here through no fault of her own. Cricket is a bit scruffy and in need of some grooming and seems to have lost some eyesight but she's bright and responsive, knows her name and to sit. She works for treats and accepts them graciously. Cricket wasn't to familiar with a slip noose lead for walking but once outside walks nicely and demonstrates good manners. She is still a bit hesitant in the kennel as all the activity is new and bothersome but she's taken to several volunteers and loves to be loved. Cricket will do best in a quiet home. She'll be happy to accompany you for short walks and other outings and should prove an excellent companion and lap warmer.

You can fill out the application form online and email the application to the Meridian Valley Humane Society. Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cricket, a Meridian Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
