My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruff Ruff! My name is Jack.Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix ;He is housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats. One Eyed Jack - Black Lab mix (short coat), age:1 year old , med to large size male Jack is a energetic, snuggly sweet, glossy black and white male Lab-mix looking for a loving home. One Eyed Jack - Jack was found as a stray which had been thrown out by the railroad tracks in a rural area of TN - We don't know his start in life and we will never know, but only assume that it was full of neglect, abuse before he was turned out onto the streets and tracks. He has only one eye the other is dropped back and absorbed by his body. The vet said it is fine, shouldn't cause him any pain or physical problems. He was very thin and gaunt when he was rescued. For as much as we think he's been through. He is a happy little guy, very energetic, full of tail wags and kisses for the people he loves. He is very food-motivated and takes treats quickly, although he is a little fussy around other dogs near his dinner, he wants to be feed first, which is obliviously from his rough start, knowing how hard he had to work for his meals and wondering what threat might be around the next corner or how he will find the next scrap of food. Since he is blind in one eye, its not surprising, that he gets easily startled by someone come up behind him. But he still loves to play with squeaky toys. He will listen for the ball to bounce and go in that direction. He also quite the lap dog and loves to cuddle. He also enjoys the company of most other dogs, kids, cats and people, He is good on the leash and rides well in the car. He is housebroken (crate trained) when kept on a tight schedule and no food changes. Jack is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested and on preventative. He is currently living in a foster home in TN and he is ready for adoption. Thank you for considering a rescued dog and Jack would certainly return the love if you adopted him. I need a loving, affectionate family who can help me be their wonderful Pet...I hope you are that family!
