Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Flipper is an absolute doll inside and out. You can definitely tell that she was well loved at some point and that she enjoyed being with people. She is a very sweet, calm girl that would into just about any household including a first time dog owner. She would love a home where she had a backyard to play in but would be fine as long as she got a good walk each day. She is very quiet in the home and well behaved wherever she goes. Flipper has one blue eye and one brown eye giving her a very distinctive look. She is a healthy girl that will definitely be someone's best friend. Flipper is approximately a year old and currently weighs 45 lbs.
Here is what her foster family had to say:
Flipper is simply a sweetheart. She is very social and loves to be around people. She is very affectionate and a huge people pleaser. Flipper is very social and very friendly. She loves to be near the family. She is also great with kids! She doesn't jump on people at all, which is great! My 10 year old cousin spent an hour playing with her yesterday and Flipper was amazing with her. She has not shown any shyness with people. We have no other pets in the home. Surprisingly, we have not encountered other pets while walking yet but she has been with other dogs at the Rescue and was fine. She is actually the perfect dog! She is very calm and good natured and friendly with everyone.
She has great manners. We have not had a single issue with her in our home, not even on the first day. She does not counter surf or try to steal food. She has not chewed on anything she shouldn't chew. She tried chewing a flip flop once and she stopped as soon as I told her to, and she hasn't tried to do it again. I definitely trust her in the home. She knows come, sit, and down. She doesn't necessarily obey every single time but she learns fast and we can work on that. She understands drop it as well. I am teaching her "off" to get off certain furniture and its working great! She is fully house trained. She has not had a single incident in the house. She goes for a couple of walks a day and she is let into the backyard a few times a day so she has the chance to relieve herself. She is good at signalling when she needs to go. She goes and stands by the sliding door and we just let her out. She is crate trained and we are using a crate. She is left in the crate at night while everyone sleeps. During the day she has only been in the crate for about 2 hours while I was running some errands today. She hesitates slightly while going into the crate and that's about it. She doesn't cry, whimper or bark. I have had no issues at all.
She is nearly leash trained. She pulls but she is easy to walk. She'll learn quickly. She never tries to bolt out the door or run away at all. She looks to us for direction and does her best to do whatever we ask of her. When Flipper first came to us she seemed to be scared of the stairs. It took her a couple of days but she is fine climbing the stairs now. She refuses to go in this dark corridor by the laundry room. I assume she might be a little bit afraid of dark spaces but I can't be sure. She hesitates before getting in the car but she is great once she's in the car. She just sits and enjoys the view. She has a moderate energy level and sheds very little.
I honestly think she is the perfect dog! I have not had a single issue with her. She is an angel! She is so loving and sweet. She is very well behaved and doesn't need to be watched all the time. She doesn't have copious amounts of energy like some young dogs do, which is great because she knows how to relax. She is calm and can be completely trusted in the house. She would be great for just about any situation whether that be a young family with children, a single who would like a loving companion or a retired couple. She just wants to be loved and won't be too much for anyone.
If you would like to make this pretty girl a part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
