Buddy's Story...
Buddy’s name derived from his desire to be everyone’s best friend. He is such a sweet, sweet boy! He is a very good looking boy for starters. His smaller forward facing ears framing his beautiful face may be one of the first things you notice about this sweet fellow. Buddy has a beautiful shiny solid black coat with a small white neck tie around his neckline and two tiny circle hints of white on his back. Buddy has a very good body weight and muscle tone. You will not meet a friendlier fellow who is curious and interested in everything you are involved in. He constantly has his eye on you which makes him an excellent candidate for training hand commands for starters. He has quickly picked-up the sit cue and is constantly at your side eager to learn more. He meets no stranger and would do well as a constant companion going everywhere with you.

He is young and enjoys playing with the other dogs of all shapes and sizes. He tries to play with each of them...even the grumpiest of older dogs.

Buddy is however all about people. He wants to learn all about you and what you’re doing. For someone with the time, patience and knowledge to train this highly inquisitive boy he would be worth his weight in gold to many whose lives he enters and touches.

Buddy is crate trained. He also enjoys sleeping with anyone who will allow him on the bed. He is a great sleeping partner...he doesn’t move around much or tries to take up your space nor does he snore or talk in his sleep. He is completely house and crate trained. He would be great to take with you on your outings to Lowe’s or other pet friendly establishments for extra training and a treat. Rides well in a car, but I would suggest a doggy seatbelt to maintain a safe experience and to aid into directing his ‘input’ in a stabilized viewing field. He loves to ride!

Although Buddy has not been tested with cats yet, I think if properly introduced will readily learn that cats can be great ‘buddies’ for him too and I can visualize him cuddled up with a kitty pal.

Buddy is food motivated, play motivated, attention receiving motivated and approval motivated which would make him well worth the effort of training him for a specific interaction with people. He adores humans, big and small. He is of average energy level but if you needed more from him I am sure he will put his best paw forward just for you!

Buddy would do well in any home and we especially feel he is meant to do something extraordinary with his talents. Buddy is protective of his home and will bark to alert you of that noise at the front door we know as the doorbell...just in case you didn’t hear it yourself. He’s just helpful like that!

Buddy doesn’t have the usual ‘dog problems’ no fear of storms, digging, excessive barking, fence jumping, running away, biting, food aggression, etc. His only ‘dog problem’ would be sometimes if left alone for long periods he may want to chew on something that smells like you. He is not the type of dog you can use as a yard ornament - he wants, needs and enjoys human contact, interaction and love.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buddy, a Huntsville Labrador Retriever/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
