Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Missy is a six-year-old German Shepherd mix who was spayed at one of our free dog clinics as an 8 week old puppy then given away to a family who kept her isolated in a backyard most of her life. Recently, we got word that they were moving, six years later, could not take her with them; they needed to give her to our rescue. We took Missy on because she is a sweet, submissive dog who had been living with two Chihuahua mixes and was chained off and on and in spite of this, still truly loves people, despite not having the greatest start in life. She would make a wonderful companion for a quiet, patient family or person who will understand the world outside a backyard is new to this big girl. She is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, is learning how to walk properly on a leash, knows very basic commands, is house-trained, learning about riding in cars, is overall a healthy dog who weighs about 70 lbs. She is tall and lean, no hip problems. Call us at 818-407-4145 or apply online at www.downtowndogrescue.org to adopt Missy.
