If you have ever considered a winter vacation that involves a sled dog expedition, please make some inquiries into the companies that operate these expeditions. For some, it is just a question of making a “fast buck” in the winter. They might take care of their dogs while they are working but in the off-season, the dogs are thirsty, hungry, sick at the end of a chain for who knows how many weeks or months at a time. What a dismal life for man’s best friend! These dogs lack kindness, affection, and human attention; after all, they are not “pets”. Halona, a Husky mix, was not very good at pulling a sled. At just 35 lbs., it is understandable. Life is about to change drastically for this shy dog. Right around the corner is a home that will give her plenty of good food, fresh water, and a soft warm bed (she is even open to sharing a bed with her human). Halona will need a patient guardian who will take the time to socialize and train her. She gets along with other dogs and another well-adjusted canine may well be of help to her. She is not comfortable around young children; therefore, an adult home or one where children are over 12 would best suit her. If you would like to give this deserving dog her “happily ever after”, please fill in the Adoption Form.
