Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Honey, we're pregnant!"
Three little joyful words.... but the three words Petro dreads to hear. And why wouldn't he? Those three little words are the reason he's lost his home time and time again.
His original owner got him as an adorable tiny pup. But only months later, she found out she was pregnant, so she gave him to a coworker. And only months after that, his new owner got the same joyful news, and Petro was out of a home once again.
This cycle must stop!
Kids and dogs are a great combination. But far too often, dogs like Petro lose their homes simply because a new baby is on the way.
Never again. Let's find this boy a real permanent home.
Petro is a 1 year old Black Lab mix. When you enter the kennel area, Petro makes sure you notice him. And if you're not paying attention, he'll reach out of his kennel like a cat and tap you on the shoulder.
He is a very smart boy and has done well in his obedience classes. He has already mastered Sit, Down, Stay and Come, and he's very eager to learn more.
He would prefer to be the only dog in the home because he tends to be a bit of an attention hog. He gets along well with kids. Cats are a no-no though.
You can meet Petro at the Adoption Center Monday through Saturday 1pm to 7pm. He is already neutered, heartworm tested, fully vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped, so he's ready to join your family right away.
