Scabbers's Story...
*Single male rat
*Not too old, guessing about 6 months as of 1/2015
-This little boy was at a local pet store for over 3 months with no one wanting to purchase him. We were worried about him being sold for snake food so we took him into our rescue to find him a good home. Scabbers is a big boy. Probably the largest male we've had! He's super sweet, but still very scared of new things. We're working a lot with him to get him to trust us. He was in a little 10 gallon tank for a long time so the big world is kind of scary! He is a very, very sweet boy though and loves to snuggle in a blanket with you. He's starting to learn that when he gets scared, he runs to me for comfort which is awesome. He's just such a good boy and would be an awesome rat for someone who can give him lots of love and time. He is living on his own right now, but I'm sure he would be good living with another male or being neutered to live with females. Adoption fee is $15.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scabbers, a Edinburg Rat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat for sale in Edinburg, or seeking a Rat from a breeder in Edinburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edinburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edinburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat breeders who help with Rat rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edinburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
