My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jake is a 9 year old rat terrier, although his activity level is that of a much younger dog. He walks up to 5 miles per day and as soon as he sees the leash he is jumping around and anxious to go. He is very friendly and loves everyone he meets. Jake was originally adopted from a shelter in southern Indiana when he was only a year old. When his owner had to move to a nursing home, Jake and his 3 furry siblings were returned to the original shelter. All four dogs then made their way to Rover Rescue. Jake had a good life in his original home, although his dental health was certainly neglected. When he came into rescue, he had 'death breath', and a large amount of tooth decay and gum infection was noted. The next day, Jake had 9 teeth pulled and the stench is gone. His missing teeth don't bother him at all and he eats dry dog food mixed with a little bit of canned food. Jake is a nice easy going little guy who prefers life in the slow lane. He enjoys snuggling on the couch or in bed and likes to go under the blankets. Jake is potty trained and is allowed to sleep in the big bed at night. He stays in the crate when no one is home. Jake gets along well with everyone he meets, but I would not place him with little kids due to his small size and age. Jake is neutered, current on vaccines, and has a clean bill of health. If you would like to meet Jake please call Carol at 630-554-3749. Jake's adoption fee is $200.
