Lexi's Story...
Ready, set, go is what this sweet girl thinks when she sees her sisters. They are so fun to watch playing. Between the jumping over each other, the chasing, and trying to catch each other or anything that moves, you can't help but be happy with her. Besides all this she's gentle and sweet. She is just 7 weeks old, very petite, and oh so beautiful. She too is recovering from too many fleas (she is anemic) and in foster care with her two sisters.

She has tested negative for feline leukemia, is microchipped, vaccinated including the leukemia vaccine, treated for worms and fleas and will either be spayed before being adopted or will be adopted with a spay neuter certificate included in the adoption package.

Her adoption fee is $90 and that includes one free month of sheltercare pet insurance. She is currently in foster care and you can call Jan at 503-581-7568 to find out more about her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexi, a Salem Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
