Ophelia's Story...
Ophelia, Ope for short, is a cute girl who doesn’t mind sharing her opinions. She’s had quite a bit of experience around other cats and even took on extra duty while nursing her own kittens. Ope likes to be held and will roll on her back and show you just how much she trusts you.

She has been spayed, tested negative for feline aids and leukemia, is microchipped, is current on her vaccinations including her leukemia vaccination, and has been treated for fleas and worms.

Her adoption fee is $75 and includes one month free sheltercare pet insurance. A discount is available when a second cat is adopted at the same time.

Please call her foster mom for more information: (503) 393-6933

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ophelia, a Salem Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
