Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Samantha is a beautiful brindle girl with golden brown eyes. She appears to be a mix of Corgi and Dachshund, approximately 4 years old and 20 lbs. Samantha was rescued from a rural shelter in Fall of 2014 and shortly thereafter gave birth to 5 pups. The pups have all found permanent homes and now it's Samantha's turn.
Samantha has gained in trust and in confidence while in foster care. She is a special girl and her current guardian is seeking a home situation for her with someone who is patient and understanding of dogs. She has provided the following information on Samantha and will be happy to answer any questions you might have as well as enlarge on her description.
Samantha would be a wonderful adult's home companion. She is a sweetie, very smart and responsive to gentle suggestion. She will adore being involved in every aspect of your daily life and will fall easily into a routine that you construct for her. Samantha is people friendly, but does seem to prefer women and may not be best suited to a home with small children. She wants to be near you and loves to cuddle and have her belly rubbed. A home with a woman who is an active retiree would be ideal.
For Samantha loves her walks - the more walks a day the better, and she particularly enjoys nature hikes. After exercising, she is happy to take a nap on a comfy chair. As she is inclined to chase squirrels she would probably chase a cat if it ran from her but she has learned to be respectful of the cats in her foster home. Although she has lived with other dogs, most likely she would prefer to be your one and only.
