Mikey's Story...
Mikey is about a 7-8 year old Dachshund mix who is a absolute sweetheart! Mikey came to ATTT from a local shelter after being dropped off there after years of living tied to a tree with his canine friend. Mikey quickly learned that living indoors is wonderful! He loves a nice comfy dog bed, warm food, fresh water and human snuggles… He is so appreciative of a kind word and a loving hand. Because of Mikey’s rough start, he lost a lot of hair on his back from hard winters and hot summers outside. However, with good nutrition and some special cream, his hair is growing in nicely! Mikey is looking for a home to call his own, with people to love him forever. Are you looking for him?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mikey, a Mount Gretna Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Mount Gretna, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Mount Gretna.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mount Gretna already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mount Gretna breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mount Gretna paves the way for another one to be saved.
