My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Candy was posted on a local facebook page. "Can someone help this dog?" This was back right after Thanksgiving in early December. Candy was eating garbage and anything she could find on the road sides. You could count every rib on her. She apparently had just had a litter of puppies, but no puppies were ever found. Candy was just out fending for herself. Well the plea around FB for someone to help got Amy "tagged" and Amy will never back away from a dog in need. Amy rescued Candy, is fostering her, and is now looking for a great home for this great dog.

Amy tells me that Candy is 18 - 24 months old and weighs 50 lbs. She has added considerable weight to her emaciated frame. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and fully heart worm treated. She was positive which is no surprise in our area, but would only require monthly preventatives going forward. Amy has fostered Candy from the time they pied her up from the roadside. She is dog friendly and cat friendly. She is around a number of people regularly and is very friendly. Amy did say that she is partial to women and just a bit skittish with men. But no aggression, no strong aversion. They are calling her a shepherd mix and she really has blossomed into a beauty. She is house broken and crate trained. She uses a doggy door at Amy's house. Amy says she will stockpile her toys inside her crate, but has no food aggression at all. Amy's last comment to me about Bayou is that she had broken hearts everywhere she went. She is a local celebrity of sorts and we are just hoping for a great home for her. See attached photos with Candy and her foster mom, Amy.
