Socks (Socky) is an adorable young mix of Shar Pei (check out her small ears) and probably Kimmer Cur as judged from the colors of her coat and general size. She was 9 months old at input and weighed 33 pounds. She is now (5-1-16) about two years old and weighs about 35 lbs.  Socks has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccines and tested negative for heart worms. Socks was abandoned by a family in Robbinsville, North Carolina when they moved and saved by a neighbor who was her initial foster. She was house-trained and socialized with her foster's 5 dogs and is sweet and friendly. Socks likes to be outdoors and would require a fenced yard for her protection although she doesn't run off when outside.  Her current foster has 2 other dogs (pit bull and Labrador retriever) and she gets along fine with everyone. She is somewhat shy at first but loves to play and likes to sleep on the bed in the arms of her foster and enjoys a few sips of Chardonnay in the afternoon.  This is a wonderful dog.  If you are interested in providing a home for Socks, please contact Ron Stoessell at 985-630-1613 or at ronstoesssell@gmail.com or her foster Cindy Mulkey at 828-557-4263.

About Lost Dogs Run

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Board has previously volunteered and served on the Boards of St. Francis Animal Sanctuary, The Delta Humane Society of Louisiana, Logan's Run Rescue and volunteered at the Valley River Humane Society Thrift Store and Shelter. Our years of rescue experience have shown us that rescue animals are best served by keeping them out of Shelters. We rely on volunteers to foster them while we vet them and find homes for them. Fostered animals are house trained and socialized before adoption. We actively promote fostering of rescue animals by members of the local community.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

We will be putting a PayPal donate button on the home page at http://www.lostdogsrun.com/ and on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/LOST-DOGS-RUN-first-foremost-and-always-for-the-animals/201659650034561?ref=hl

Come Meet Our Pets...

Contact Ron Stoessell at ronstoessell@gmail.com to come and meet animals in Southwest North Carolina in Lost Dogs Run that are available for adoption. He will notify the fosters and set up a time for meeting them.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption application and contract can be found at http://www.lostdogsrun.com/forms.htm. We ask for a $150 donation at the time of adoption. Before adoption, a home visit and references are checked and a one week trial period has successfully passed. Homes are required to have a fenced yard and the animal must be allowed inside at night. Animals are not allowed to be tied up outside for more than several hours or crated for long periods, except for sleeping at night in the house.
