My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Mabel, and my foster mom says that I have a heart of gold! I was surrendered to a local pound because my previous home said they, "didn't have time for me anymore". I am house and crate trained, and I walk well on my Gentle Leader head collar - unless I see something I want to chase, and then you better hold on tight - I am very strong! I know some basic obedience skills like sit, down and stay, and I like to chase balls and really enjoy snuggling on the couch. My foster mom says that I listen well and would make a great companion. Check out my cool video! Please come and meet me so I can find someone to snuggle with!
Mabel is a wonderful girl, and she wants all the attention and doesn't appreciate when other dogs get in her face so she needs to be the only dog in the home. Mabel will never be a "dog park dog", but she will fill your life with lots of unconditional love! Being a senior gal, s he has some urinary incontinence which is controlled with a medication called Proin and it works great. Mabel also has a bad knee and no longer goes up anymore than 3 stairs. She is fne with going down the stairs.  Please e-mail or call us at 715-468-7784 to find out more about this very special dog.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Welcoming a pet into your home is a commitment of time, patience, money and love. You should think very carefully and do your research before adopting any animal. Rescued Tails Animal Sanctuary spays / neuters all companion animals before adoption. All animals are vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested (dogs), feline leukemia tested and microchipped. If you find an animal that you are interested in on our web site please call, or e-mail us, and we will gladly tell you more about that special animal. Our experienced volunteers will help you select a companion animal that will fit your personality and lifestyle. We want you to experience a rewarding, lifetime relationship with your new companion. If you find a furry friend you wish to adopt you will fill out an adoption application and then a home visit will be set up. At the time of adoption you will fill out an adoption contract and pay the adoption donation.

Go meet their pets

Some of our pets live at our sanctuary in Shell Lake, WI, and others are fostered in homes in the Twin Cities, MN area. We do adoptions days at least once a month. We can make arrangements for you to meet any of our pets on an appointment basis.

More about this rescue

Rescued Tails is a small group of volunteers who believes that every life is valuable, and that every healthy or treatable animal is worth saving. We have an affinity for those animals whose chances of being rescued from impounds or kill-shelters are minimized due to breed, age, temperament and/or color. We provide training or seek medical treatment when applicable to ensure that every one of our animals gets a chance at a new beginning.
