My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated Bio 4/7/15

Harley is a sweet 18 month old, 9 lb. Chorkie being fostered in North Port FL.

Harley says “Hello every Puppy and Puppy-Lover!” I am Harley the Chorkie boy and I am 9 pounds of pure love. Some people don’t know what a Chorkie is…….can you BELIEVE that? When they ask me, I just tell them that Chorkies are just the best and cutest breed of “designer dog” there is! I am a perfect cross of a Yorkshire Terrier and a Chihuahua. Like most Chorkies I have a ton of energy and a big personality. I LOVE being on the go and that means running very fast and playing with my foster sister. I also like to growl but I am not mean and have never bitten anyone. When I get tuckered out from playing hard I like to relax in my human’s lap and get lots of attention and affection. I will also give lots love and kisses in return. It does take me a little while to warm up to strangers but once I get to know them it is all good.

Let’s see……I think my PERFECT forever home would be with someone who is home a lot so we can spend LOTs of time together. I have lots of love to give and am just waiting for the right human/s to love for the rest of my life. The way I have it planned out…….You give the belly rubs…….I will give the doggy kisses, and we can be best friends FUR-EVER! If that sounds good to you then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE apply to adopt me TODAY!

Update 03/02/15: Harley is a 15 month old Chorkie being fostered in North Port Florida
Well what else can we say about Harley other than he is a charming little man that thrives on being picked up and carried around by FM!!
Wow loves a playing with doggieshis own size. Enjoys car rides and walks as well..Of course growls a little bit does not bite.,,lol. Harley needs a loving active home! Could that be yours?

date 01/31/15: Harley is a 15 month old chorkie (Chihuahua /yorkie) mix, that is being fostered in North Port Fl.

Foster mom and dad are thrilled to be fostering this little pup. Harleys sweetness is showing little by little. He likes to snuggle on a lap and sleep in his bed on foster dad and moms bed. Enjoys going for walks, car rides and playing with an assortment of toys.

Harley has not snapped at anyone and just likes to growl sometimes as a means of communication, specially if foster mom/dad are showering him with kisses.

Harley still barks when he sees someone he does not know but it too is getting less

and less frequent.

Gets along great with dogs of all sizes but of course would do better in a home with another doggie his own size. He is potty and crate trained as well.

All Harley truly needs is a furever home that will provide him with tons of love and attention. If that home is yours, please let us know..

Initial Bio 01/16/2015

Meet Harley, a cute 1.5 year old 9 lb. male Yorkie mix who is being fostered in North Port, FL.

Harley has had a rough life to date and he comes to us a very frightened little boy. We don’t know a lot about him other than he was surrendered to United Yorkie Rescue by a family who got him from another owner. This family had a toddler in the home and Harley did not take well to this situation.

Harley has been reported to have a history of fear nipping when a hand is reached toward him. He also sometimes cowers and tries to disappear into the floor when approached by humans. Sadly, these types of behaviors are often seen in dogs who have suffered abuse in their past. Harley’s FM thinks that with time, understanding, patience and above all LOVE that he can rise above his fear and become a REALLY GREAT LITTLE BOY.

Harley has just arrived in his foster home. So far he has tried to play with the other pups and is curious about the cats and birds. Stay tuned and come back soon to read more about Harley as we get to know him better.
