My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello Beagle lovers! My name is Margaret. I am about 6 or 7 years old, and I am a beautiful lemon Beagle! It didn’t take me long to adjust to living in my foster home, and I am doing great! I love meeting people, and everyone says I am very sweet. I get along great with my “brother” in my foster home.

I do like to get up early, usually for a potty break, but if you give me a treat I can be persuaded to go back to sleep until time for breakfast. I did have a little separation anxiety, and would bark or whine at bedtime, or when left alone; sometimes even if you just left me to go to another room! I am getting much better though, especially if you leave a TV or radio on to keep me company. Do you have the Animal Planet Channel?

I love to play with my foster brother, and usually play a couple times a day. After that, though I get to do my favorite thing in the world- napping! I love my naps! I am a good cuddler if you want to take a nap with me. When I go outside, I bark at the door to be let back in. In this cold winter weather, I start barking pretty quickly!

I have to tell you that when I was taken to the vet, they took a biopsy and the diagnosis was that the edges of the biopsy were not clean. That means it was a low grade cancer, but now that I am spayed there’s a very good chance it may not come back. It is not an aggressive cancer, and would be very slow growing if it comes back at all. Still, it is something you need to be aware of.

So, to sum things up, I’m looking for my forever family! I would probably be ok as an only dog, but I do best with a friend to hang out and play with. I ride great in a car, I can potty on leash, and I am housetrained. I am mostly a couch potato, but don’t like much to be alone, so I’m looking for a home where someone is there a lot. I’d like it best in a slower paced household. Could that be yours?

Love,

Margaret
