My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DASH is a 3 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 66 pounds. Dash is a dashingly handsome guy that will be a great find for some lucky family! He is very affectionate and loving. He will fetch anything you'd like to throw for him! Dash is house trained and crate trained and was generally crated at night. He knows basic commands. He walks ok on leash but can pull so an easy walk harness would be helpful. He is good with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. No cat history so cats are unknown. Dash has previously lived with kids 2 and up and did well with them. From evaluator: Dash is a sweetie. He enjoys belly rubs and was gentle taking treats. He used to go jogging with previous owner. His doggie friends included a bulldog, a lab, and two schnauzers. Dash likes to play with squeaky toys and balls. Dash is an owner give up to lab rescue due to a change in family circumstances. He is approved for kids 2+.

Update (1/29): Dash does chase stuff you throw, and likes to run around in the yard with the resident dog, or chases foster dad if he runs, but he also settles down after he's had exercise. He'll curl up next to his human or nudge you for some petting. He loves his humans and responds very well to his name.

Update (01/23): Dash is a sweet dog full of puppy energy. He was encouraged by his previous owner to jump up on him and hug him, so that's what he does. He'll need to learn that he can't do that to everyone he meets now that he's an adult dog. He's smart and a fast learner, so once he goes to obedience training and has someone to work with his manners, he'll be just fine. In his previous home, he lived with three young kids, but he may be too much for little ones if they're not used to a big dog that may knock them over. Dash is looking for a family that has the time to exercise him and polish up his training. He's a very friendly dog.

Update (01/22): Dash is quite the dashing young fellow. He is tall, slender and loves to say hello..He needs to work on staying down to say hello (he has a tendency to pop u)). He takes treats nicely and will wait his turn and sit down for a meal. Although he has nice manners he will check out the counters from time to time. Dash is learning good manners in his foster home and needs to continue to learn manners at his forever home. He was very good when he got a bath and seemed to really enjoy his new clean scent. He adores going out for a ride in the car, which he does nicely or taking a walk and gets a little too excited when he sees a leash. This debonair fellow also likes kids and adores getting attention and will give you a nudge if you stop petting him. Dash seems to enjoy fetching although needs some work on bringing it back - he will sometimes run after the ball and then just play with it himself.
