My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Misha is a 1 year old, spayed, purebred female Newfoundland. Her foster home is near Omaha, NE. She’s a very energetic Newf puppy and she is smart. She will need a lot of physical activity and mental stimulation in her new home. She loves to play so we would like to find her a home with another active, good sized dog. She will do well in a home with older children. Cats will be fine as long as they hold their ground and don’t run.
Misha is crate trained and does well in her crate. We want to find her a home where someone is around most of the time because she does not do well being left in her crate for long periods of time. She sleeps in her crate in the bedroom with us all night long.
At this age she cannot be trusted to be left alone outside of her crate. She’s just too curious and will get into things and get in trouble. When she gets older it will probably be fine to leave her alone outside of her crate. That’s pretty typical with young Newfs.
She gets very excited when you come home but settles down fairly quickly if you turn your back and ignore her. She’s a friendly girl so she also gets very excited when she meets people. They should be instructed to ignore her at first and praise her when she settles down.
Misha will need a family that has positive reinforcement training experience and one that will be able to continuously work with her. She has had some obedience and clicker training and it would be good for her to take an obedience class with her new owner. She’s a sweet girl that loves people and other dogs. She’s more active than most people think a Newf should be but once she gets the puppy energy worn off she likes to cuddle and give kisses.

Our adoption fee is $400.00 for Newfs under 18 months. A fenced yard with a minimum height of 4-feet is required for adoption.
Applicants with-in a 8 Hour drive of the foster home will be considered first.
If you plan on submitting an application and you are out of our region, once your application is approved we require that you come to our area to meet the dog and foster family. If that goes well you will be able to take your Newfie home with you.
