My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES GENTRY INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!

Gentry is a approx. 8-10 month old shepherd mix pup, not sure what he's mixed with but he let out a bellow today that sounded like our neighbor’s Beagle a little bit and based on him being a little guy, I'm ready to determine mister cutie pie a 'SHEAGLE'.

As many folks know when we rescue these shepherd mixes we often can only surmise what they are. Sheagles are a breed in and of themselves. We've had many Sheagles of various sizes but always a bit diminutive, however wonderful loving family dogs.

Gentry is a sweet kid and loves kids and people and other dogs and cats. He's just an all around good natured kid who found himself in a predicament in a southern high kill shelter on the euthanasia list.

Being on death row is not a joke nor taken lightly, IDGSR takes that seriously for all the dogs we rescue, because when a shelter tells us they are going to destroy the dog, WE believe them.

There is no sugar coating this fact, calling it 'put to sleep' makes it sound oh so sweet because don't we all love to sleep? putting the dog down? awe, not so bad, Euthanasia doesn't even sound all that bad, sounds kind of like some kind of European or Exotic Vacation or Cruise. Correcting the Term, it is simply Destroying the animal. These animals may be the 'southern trash' of society in the south, but make no mistake about it, THESE ANIMALS ARE WORTHY OF SAVING!!!

IDGSR seeks to educate about this very subject and takes opportunity platforms to do that.
