Meet Nyasa. She is a sweet girl who seems to like all people, but she is aggressive towards other dogs and cats. A perfect day for Nyasa is a full-out run in our fenced dog parks, a long leash walk, and being petted by her special person(s). Nyasa prefers not to grow much older at the shelter confined to a kennel, but she must find a home with an experienced handler that can keep her secure and away from other dogs and cats. Be sure to check BREED RESTRICTIONS for the area in which you would reside with Nyasa. The Pit Bull Terrier breed is banned in some areas, while there are registration requirements in others. There will be a home check before Nyasa can be adopted.
Nyasa is sponsored by Clark Trim and John and Christy Wells. Thank you for your generous donations in honor of Nyasa!

About Humane Society of Pulaski County

About Our Shelter...

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
